LETS GO
Except there are footsteps coming down the street now - someone running for shelter, it seems. There's a brief moment of hesitation before he rises, intending to open the door for whoever was coming in.
Whether he makes it in time is another question altogether. ]
AW YEAH
Luckily there's a coffee shop nearby, and she's quickly to go straight to the door - just as Cecil is opening it for her. Resulting into her stumbling into him in her hurry as he opens the door for her, getting him covered in rain water as well.
At least she's quick to notice her mistake, and she's just as quick to hop back, brows furrowing as she looks around for something to dry him off with.]
I'm so sorry, I didn't notice you were opening the door. Are you alright? I mean, besides getting wet...
no subject
I'm sorry! I should have been more careful...
[ For a guy, he holds his arms quite close to himself. It's almost as if he's afraid of intruding on her space with his limbs. Then it occurs to him that she actually asked him a question. ]
Yes, I'm fine. Um... I'm sorry, again. Are you okay?
no subject
Only to then blink even more when he asks her the same question, looking up at him in something like surprise.]
Why're you asking me that? I was the one that bumped into you. [That was probably a bit too blunt, oops. But she is at least polite enough to answer him.]
I'm fine, just kinda soaked... [She gives the shawl in her hands an almost defeated glance - at least it tried to protect her from the rain.]
no subject
I'll ask the staff if they have a towel. They should...
[ With that, he excuses himself with a slight nod and trails over to the counter. She's free to follow him while he waits at said counter for the barista to emerge from the storeroom, hopefully with a clean towel. ]
no subject
She doesn't hesitate to follow after him, watching as the barista heads into the storeroom, before glancing up at the menu. Quiet for a moment, before glancing over at him once more.]
... What kinds of drinks do you like?
no subject
Earl Grey for tea, and mocha for coffee. They're light on the palate and graceful... it's quite nice.
[ That should tell her he's someone who pays a lot of attention to coffeeshop drinks. ]
What about you, miss...?
[ The last word is intoned with a slight rise, indicating a question prompting for her name as well as the answer. ]
no subject
But now seems a good time as any to hang around in one, and she takes a moment to think over his question - though she doesn't hesitate to give her name.]
Lapis. What's your name? [She's quiet for a bit longer, eyes still focused on the menu as she thinks of how to answer the other question.] And I... Hmm, I usually like fruit teas. I don't drink coffee much, I find it too bitter.
[Luckily the barista manages to find a towel, handing it to Lapis as she quickly starts to work on drying her hair - while she also speaks up to order a mocha. Since she said she didn't really drink coffee, her intention to buy him a drink as an apology is obvious now.]
no subject
[ He gives her a slight bow as per courtesy, though his expression quickly changes to one of surprise once he figures out her intention. ]
You don't have to... do that. I mean...
[ It's always a surprise when someone does something for him. He feels he shoudln't be burdening her with expenses, but she's already gone ahead and done it. ]
... thank you.
no subject
[There's a blink at his bow, and she's quick to return it with a shaky one of her own - she doesn't want to appear rude. Even if she tends to anyway, but at least she tries...
And she turns back to the barista once she places the order, his thanks just getting a glance and shake of her head.]
You don't have to thank me. This is my way of apologizing for bumping into you.
[She uses the time the barista makes the drink to finish drying off, handing the towel back once they place the cup on the counter - which Lapis then immediately offers to Cecil.]
Here you go.
