[he lets the other stare, unselfconscious and relaxed, long hair unbound and catching some light. the staff in his hands loosely held and violet eyes examining the woman, before they finally turn to see his companion. he looks, and there is a sense of being beheld, careful and all encompassing, in that look.]

Dreams are more honest than people think them to be. Every detail, every moment arranged by the mind as if to say "yes, this is it." Of course, that's when they're left perfectly alone.

The way Merlin speaks is of a curious observer. There's nothing to hide here, so he lets it be. ]

[the words are blunt even though said in a sweet tone, and extending his hand over the fountain, foreign blossoms drop from his hand, to float in the water. an offering? or simply because he wanted to?]

These... are not words said to him in a long while. He can't remember when he last heard this sort of sentiment, if ever.

(Though, it explains. He hasn't talked to anyone for a long, long time.) ]
